DSIP: a small sleep study with mixed findings

A double-blind study of chronic insomnia evaluated DSIP using objective sleep measurements and subjective reports.

ThePepBlog Research Edition · Educational summary · Prepared September 20, 2026

What the research examined

A double-blind study of chronic insomnia evaluated DSIP using objective sleep measurements and subjective reports. Some objective differences were statistically significant, but the authors considered the effects weak and potentially influenced by changes in the placebo group. Subjective sleep quality did not improve.

How to interpret the findings

This example illustrates why a significant result on one measurement is not the same as a persuasive overall clinical effect. Small samples, multiple endpoints, and agreement between objective and subjective findings matter.
