What the research examined
Start with the question, the model, and the outcome measured. A cell experiment can investigate a mechanism; an animal model can explore a response in a living system. Human observational studies identify associations, while randomized trials can provide stronger evidence about an intervention within the population and conditions studied.
How to interpret the findings
Look for the comparator, sample size, uncertainty, and adverse findings. Biomarkers and clinical outcomes are different. A review summarizes earlier work; a post hoc analysis asks a question after the original trial plan. No single category guarantees a reliable conclusion, and a reference list is not a substitute for assessing what each paper supports.
