Separate rat work measured expression of genes related to neurotransmission after Selank exposure. The studies investigate clinical observations and possible mechanisms, respectively.
How to interpret the findings
The small clinical report and the animal experiment cannot substitute for a larger, independently replicated clinical evidence base. Changes in gene expression do not establish a particular subjective effect or resolve clinical safety questions.
